Remnants of Tropical Cyclone Dovi hit New Zealand\'s North Island. The storm brought destructive winds, heavy rains and large waves. Authorities issued severe weather warnings from Northland to Christchurch ahead of the storm. At the peak of the storm, an estimated 100 000 customers lost power.

Wind gusts up to 130 km/h were recorded in the central part of the North Island. Strong gusts of wind uproot trees, and the roofs of houses also suffered. 152 mm of rain fell in Kelburn, Wellington, causing minor floods. Several highways were closed due to slips and flooding. Air New Zealand said the weather has forced it to cancel at least 100 flights.

There was no serious damage to the infrastructure, and there were no reports of casualties either.
